Androgynous Style: Rihanna

Rihanna donned a full menswear ensemble while in London at the Westfield Stratford City Shipping centre to switch on the Christmas, and I love her look! She wore a blue and grey striped top and pants set from Acne SS 2013′s Menswear collection styled with a blue coat from Raf Simons’ Fall 2012 Menswear collection. Sunglasses, slate grey suede pumps and a bold red lip completed her androgynous look.

I’m a huge fan of Raf Simons’s first couture collection at Dior, and the look shown was my personal favorite. So it’s wonderful to see Marion Cotillard wearing the distinctive outfit, and making it her own by pairing it with red pumps and doing away with the scarf. How great does she look?

Runway: Christian Dior Couture Fall 2012

For Raf Simon’s debut at Christian Dior, he created a collection that interpreted the brand’s 1947 design aesthetic for women living in 2012. Nina Garcia said of the show, it was “beautiful, perfect, and simple.” From the looks of all of the beautiful flowers arranged at the show, the peplum, and balloon-skirted gowns, I couldn’t agree more.

Runway: Raf Simons Spring 2013 Menswear

Shorts are a Raf Simons staple, and his Spring 2013 menswear collection is filled with them – paired with perforated tops, tailored coats and jackets, and oversized tees decorated with huge painted faces by L.A. artist Brian Calvin. Raf always manages to always combine classic tailoring with sportswear, while managing to integrate art into his designs.
