Collection: Balmain Spring 2013 Menswear

“Capturing the lion in the jungle” was the whole idea behind Balmain Spring 20123, as Olivier Rousteing stated, in which he took a recent trip to Miami and was inspired by the Cuban culture. And with that inspiration, Balmain was more safari wear rather than the traditional city dressing, offering the season’s newest jacket, the Spencer, focusing more on tailoring, and showcasing two new pant silhouettes. The lion hunt definitely continues.

Runway: Givenchy Spring 2013 Menswear

Riccardo Tisci does it again with another creative collection! Tisci managed to integrate religion and sex quite successfully in the collection, filled with tees printed with abstract Madonna faces, sweats, suits, and of course, pops of light pink. I have a feeling the abstract tees will be as huge as a trend as were the rottweiler and birds of paradise tees (and let’s not forget the shark tees!)

Collection: Versace Resort 2013

Versace is “rockmantic” for the Resort 2013 collection, partially influenced by the Memphis design movement of the 1980′s. Studded leather, floral prints, and bright hues are offered in the collection, which is highly appropriate considering the inspiration.
